Website Terms and Conditions · Version 2026-10-15

Clear terms. No surprises.

These terms explain exactly how the SOL Media homepage preview, website packages and hosting work. They protect both you and the supplier by setting the scope, timing, price, hosting, paid rights and next steps before a brief is submitted.

1. Who these terms are between

These terms are between the legal customer named in the website brief or enquiry (“you”) and Sam William Leverenz, a sole trader, ABN 19 624 756 890 (“supplier”, “SOL”, “we” or “us”). The service is presented under the SOL Media / Spice of Life Media brand, but Sam William Leverenz is the legal supplier. By submitting the completed brief and ticking the agreement box, or by approving a preview and choosing a package, you accept this dated version of the terms. We keep the accepted version and acceptance time with the project record. The person accepting confirms they are authorised to accept these terms for that legal customer.

2. The packages and what each includes

Every website is built and hosted on SOL’s own platform. The package you choose sets the scope of the build. Each package includes the items listed for it on the SOL website on the date you accept these terms, and the items listed as included in every package:

  • Starter, A$879: three pages (Home, Services and Contact), copy of up to 500 words per page, up to 10 images, tap-to-call and map integration, and search setup on all three pages (page titles, descriptions, headings and submission to Google for indexing);
  • Business, A$1,490: everything in Starter, plus up to five pages, copy across all five pages, up to 25 images and a gallery, blog publishing, a link or embed for your existing booking provider, a reviews showcase, Google Business Profile connection, Local SEO Setup (Google Business Profile optimisation, listings in 10 local directories, research on up to 20 local keywords and search tuning of all five pages), service and FAQ structured data; and
  • Online Shop & Payments, A$2,990: everything in Business, plus up to 40 products with up to 3 photos each, a search-ready page for each product, and the shop, payment, account and administration features listed for that package.

A page is one primary navigation page with a standard amount of small-business content. A large service catalogue, location library, product range or article collection is not one page merely because it sits under one menu label. Image and word limits are the maximum included; unused allowances do not carry over.

Every package has the limits listed above. They are maximums: unused allowances do not carry over, cannot be swapped for other work and are not refunded. Anything beyond a limit is a paid, fixed-price extra; nothing beyond a limit is included free (for example an extra page, an extra revision round or 10 more products) shown with its price before you approve. Your accepted quote is the complete list of what you are buying. It records your package, any extras you chose (such as Local SEO Setup, SEO Growth, extra pages, extra revision rounds, or domain and business email setup) at the prices shown on it, and your hosting plan. If something is not written on your accepted quote or in your package, it is not included, even if it was discussed, appears on another website, or seems small. A quote is valid for 30 days.

Anything not listed for your package is outside its scope. This includes extra pages, custom software, data migration, complex integrations, copywriting beyond the limits, photography and paid third-party services. Out-of-scope work is quoted in writing before it starts, and nothing extra is started or charged without your written approval. Larger custom work, such as web apps, client portals and integrations, is scoped and quoted separately.

3. Your free homepage preview and the 24-hour timing

Before you pay anything, we design a preview of your homepage from your brief. The preview is the homepage only, not the full website. We aim to deliver it within 24 hours. The 24 hours starts only once SOL has received and accepted your complete brief, your logo and the images you want used, and counts business days only (Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays in South Australia). Your receipt records the acceptance time.

If a detail, file, permission or access is missing or unclear, the 24 hours has not started; we will contact you and it starts once the missing item is received. Preview places are limited each week. If we cannot accept your brief within the usual timing, we will tell you before the 24 hours starts. If we miss the 24 hours for a reason within our control, we will tell you and deliver as soon as we reasonably can. You still owe nothing unless you approve the preview. This does not limit any right available under Australian law.

The preview is shown on a temporary SOL address. It remains available for at least 14 calendar days after delivery and may be removed after that. Removal does not create a payment obligation.

4. Approval, payment and declining the preview

Nothing is payable upfront and no deposit is taken. If you decline the preview, you owe nothing and there is no obligation to go ahead.

If you approve, you pay a deposit of 10% of your accepted quote through Stripe, rounded to the nearest dollar, before we build the remaining pages. The deposit is credited to your total. The remaining 90% is invoiced after approval and must be paid before your website goes live. Approval happens only when the named approver confirms the preview and the deposit is successfully processed. Viewing the preview, asking a question, or opening or cancelling checkout does not by itself mean approval or payment succeeded. The confirmed project record controls.

We do not move the website to your live domain until the full quote is paid and the first hosting payment is confirmed. The remaining 90% is due by the date on its invoice. The deposit is non-refundable once the full build starts, and no payment is refundable merely for a change of mind after approval, except where Australian law provides a right to a refund or another remedy.

5. Revision rounds

After approval and the deposit, we build the full website and you review it in Approvela, our review tool. The named approver may submit exactly three consolidated revision rounds there, whatever the package. Each round covers up to one hour of our work. Work beyond one hour in a round is charged at A$140 per hour, and we tell you before we start it. Further rounds are A$99 each, agreed in writing before they start. Each round must be one complete list of changes within the package scope, sent together. The approver is responsible for gathering internal feedback first. A question does not use a round. We complete each round within a reasonable time and keep you informed.

A revision is a correction or adjustment to something already included in your package, such as wording, an image swap, colours, spacing or the order of sections. A new page, new section type, new feature, integration, extra content, a new idea or a change of design direction is not a revision: it is a scope change and is quoted before work begins. Requests sent separately or drip-fed after a round has been submitted count as a new round. Once you approve the homepage preview, its design direction is locked; starting the design again is a scope change. After the included rounds, further design or content changes are quoted or, once live, handled under your hosting plan. This does not limit correction of a SOL defect, a missed accepted change, or any Australian Consumer Law right or remedy.

Please send all content within 14 days of approval, and each round of feedback within 14 days of our request. If the project is waiting on you for longer than that, we may pause it. A paused project is resumed as a new booking, scheduled around our existing work, and any work needed because of the delay is quoted first. A paused project does not lose any work or rights you have paid for.

Additional work is charged at A$140 per hour, or as a fixed quote for larger work. It is always quoted in writing first, and is only started once you approve it in writing and, where the quote says so, pay for it. Our silence, a friendly reply or starting a conversation about an idea is never agreement to do it free of charge.

6. Hosting on the SOL platform

Hosting on SOL’s own platform is part of every package, because the website is built to run there. You choose one of two monthly plans, billed in advance through Stripe from launch:

  • Managed Care, A$79/month: hosting, SSL and support, and up to one hour of website updates each month that we make for you. Unused time does not roll over. Additional work is A$140 per hour, or quoted before it begins if larger; and
  • Self-Edit, A$39/month: hosting, SSL and a personal SOL Edit login so you can update your words and images yourself. Changes we make for you are quoted at A$140 per hour before they begin.

Hosting includes website hosting, SSL, keeping the site source and deployment history while the plan is active, routine technical upkeep of the website code, and reasonable support by email. It is not a 24/7 response service or a guarantee of uninterrupted availability. It excludes domain registration, business email, paid third-party services and backups of third-party accounts unless agreed in writing. You may switch plans from the next billing month.

Hosting is month-to-month. To cancel, give 30 days’ written notice to info@spiceoflifemedia.com.au; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period after that notice. When you leave, we hand over your words, images and other content you supplied, and help you point your domain elsewhere. The SOL platform, its code and SOL Edit stay with SOL and cannot be moved to another host; a site rebuilt elsewhere is a separate project. We may archive the site 30 days after hosting ends. If we propose a price increase, we will tell you in writing at least 30 days before it applies, and you may cancel before then.

If a hosting payment fails, Sam will try to contact you and give a reasonable opportunity to fix it. If it remains unpaid for 14 days after that contact, SOL may suspend the website until payment is resolved.

7. Your responsibilities

You agree to:

  • provide accurate business, legal and contact information;
  • provide a complete brief, your logo and images, and any access we need;
  • only supply words, images, logos, fonts and other material you are allowed to use;
  • review factual, pricing, professional and regulatory claims before launch;
  • use one named approver for decisions and consolidated feedback;
  • keep your SOL Edit login and private project link secure, and tell us promptly if you think either has been exposed; and
  • supply and check any legally required wording, such as privacy or shop terms, for your own business.

We may refuse unlawful, misleading, infringing or unsafe content. If you knowingly supply material you are not authorised to use and this directly causes SOL a reasonable, documented cost, you must reimburse that cost only to the extent your breach caused it.

8. Our responsibilities

We will provide the service with due care and skill, keep your project information reasonably secure, communicate material delays or problems honestly, and get your written agreement before charging for out-of-scope work. We will not claim that a payment, email, launch or submission succeeded unless our system has confirmed it. If we make a mistake in work we were paid to do, we will correct it at no charge.

9. Ownership, licence and portfolio use

An unpaid preview remains SOL property and may not be copied, launched or reused. Your supplied material and your domain remain yours. Once the build price is paid in full, you may use the website design and copy we create for your business while it is hosted with SOL, and you keep the right to reuse the words and images in it anywhere.

SOL retains its platform, SOL Edit, pre-existing methods, reusable code, libraries and know-how. Third-party software, fonts, images and services remain subject to their own licences. Design source files and internal tooling are not included unless agreed in writing. We will only show your website as a portfolio example with your written permission.

10. Domains, third parties, payments and results

You should own your domain and business accounts. Domain registrars, Stripe, email providers and other third parties operate under their own terms and may have outages or changes outside our control. For Online Shop & Payments builds, you hold your own Stripe account, are responsible for its fees, payouts, refunds, tax settings and disputes, and for the products, prices and policies you sell under.

Every website includes the search setup listed for its package. The optional SEO Growth plan (A$290 per month) includes, each month, two blog articles of up to 800 words, two Google Business Profile posts, up to four page improvements and a report tracking up to 20 keywords; unused items do not carry over. SEO Growth is month-to-month and may be cancelled in writing before the next monthly billing date. Search rankings, traffic, enquiries, sales and revenue depend on factors outside SOL’s control and are not guaranteed.

11. Privacy, confidentiality and payment data

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. Stripe processes card details on its own checkout page; SOL does not receive or store your full card number. Each party will use the other’s confidential project information only to perform or receive the service, unless disclosure is required by law or authorised in writing.

12. Consumer rights and responsibility for loss

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable Australian Consumer Law guarantees. Where the law permits, a remedy may include correcting or re-performing the service, a refund, or compensation appropriate to the failure.

Where the law permits, SOL’s total liability for a project is limited to the amount you paid for that project’s build plus three months of hosting fees, and neither party is responsible for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable. This does not limit any right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law.

13. Ending the project

Before approval, you may decline the preview and pay nothing. After approval and payment, either party may end the project for a serious uncorrected breach after giving reasonable written notice. Work and rights already paid for remain available to you, subject to section 6 and third-party licences. Rights under Australian law continue to apply.

14. Questions and disputes

Contact Sam first at info@spiceoflifemedia.com.au. We will try to resolve a concern promptly and in good faith. If it is not resolved, either party may suggest mediation before court proceedings. These terms are governed by South Australian law, without limiting any right to contact a regulator, consumer-protection body, tribunal or court with jurisdiction.

15. The accepted version controls

We may publish a newer version for future customers, but we will not replace the terms you accepted for an existing project without your written agreement. If one part of these terms is unenforceable, the remaining parts continue as far as the law permits.
